Our Mission. Established in 1987, our mission is three-fold. First as a non-profit, member-driven consumer education organization, we educate and guide consumers when purchasing safe, reliable and durable products and services. We achieve this mission through a series of educational workshops, newsletters, conferences, and other communications with our consumer-members to ensure they are well-informed and protected.

TeenRich™
The American Consumer Council is pleased to introduce TeenRich™– our Financial Education program and curriculum for teens. We look forward to working with our corporate and financial institution partners to help educate a new generation of American consumers on how to make money, save and spend their hard-earned dollars!

ACC offers three options relating to TeenRich™:
1. The TeenRich™Train-the-Trainer Workshop for Educators. This workshop consists of a one-day program hosted by ACC in partnership with its network of credit unions and financial partners. Workshop participants will also receive a certificate of completion from the American Consumer Council and its university sponsor. There is no cost to educators to attend this workshop; however, space is limited and advance registration is required.

2. Certification Course in TeenRich™. This 8-module on-line course is designed to certify educators in teaching a comprehensive TeenRich™program to teens (Grades 7-12). It consists of 8 modules that educators can complete over a two-week period and be certified by ACC. Graduates will receive a TeenRich™Certificate in Financial Literacy from ACC. Tuition for the certification course is $395. Graduates will have access to downloading all course materials for their students at a 50% discount.

3. TeenRich™Course Materials. Educators may purchase the TeenRich™8-module course and download all course materials for their students. The package includes: Teacher’s Guide for all 8 lessons; Student Activities for each lesson; and, Power Point presentations for each lesson. Educators who have completed the Certificate in Financial Literacy from ACC and its university partner, will receive a 50% discount on all materials they order.
